Meet Ghost! She is a one year old husky. She was rescued by Alma Husky Rescue and Outreach in Alma, AR along with the rest of her litter. She got her name from her amazing ability to disappear and reappear like a ghost. She is a very sweet girl, but she does need a lot of training. While she is currently staying at our rescue, she is adoptable through AHRO. You can contact us directly or click the link to AHRO’s website.

Ghost sadly spent the first 11 months of her life locked inside of a kennel, and because of that, she is just now seeing the world for the first time. She is curious and likes to get into things. She is not currently house-trained, and she really loves to chew, which seems to be easily redirected with chew toys.

Because Ghost spent so much of her life in isolation, she does experience fear around people. She is not aggressive in any way, but she will perform her disappearing act when approached too quickly. Ghost would best benefit from a home with a family who is patient, understanding, and willing to work with her through her very fixable issues. She is dog-friendly and would prefer to have a playmate in her home.

Meet Clyde! Or Bruce, the nickname given to him by our rescue because he resembles Batman (Bruce Wayne) with his very unique mask. He responds well to both names now :) Clyde is another baby that was rescued by Alma Husky Rescue and Outreach in Alma, AR. While he is currently staying at our rescue, he is adoptable through AHRO. You can contact us directly or click the link to AHRO’s website.

Clyde is a very sweet, super dog-friendly, non-aggressive boy. He is about 2 years old. We are not sure exactly what happened to him, but he seems to have a large fear of men. He does great with women after a little time getting to know them. He loves playing outside and enjoys spending time with his best dog friends.

Clyde would do great in a home where a woman would be there to spend lots of time with him. He would really love it if he had another dog friend to play with but would probably do just fine as an only dog as well. He is good with kids also. He needs someone patient and understanding of his fears who is willing to work with him to build a strong relationship.

Meet Lady! She is a beautiful 2-year-old German Shepherd mix. She is very sweet but can be a little standoffish. She is not aggressive in general, but she is currently working through some issues with fear due to a lack of socialization. We are working with her to teach her how to be more accepting of new people, and we believe that, with a little time and effort, she will work past her fears.

Lady was surrendered by her owner along with her closest companion. They were surrendered for their own safety and well-being, through no fault of their own. Lady is fully vetted but currently on hold for behavior monitoring and training. She has a few problems to work through, but don’t we all?

We are hopeful that with socializing her more with people and other dogs she will become the perfect addition to the right family. She is available for pre-adoption right now. We would recommend she go to a home with maybe one other dog, or where she will be the only dog. A home with small children (under the age of 10) or other small animals would not be recommended. She doesn’t appear to be dog aggressive but she does get overwhelmed with a lot of other dogs around.

Meet Sam! He is a 2-year-old German Shepherd mix. He came in with his best friend Lady after their owner had to surrender them for their own safety and well-being. Sam is not currently available for adoption, but hopefully, in the near future, he will be. He has not been vetted yet, and he is on hold for behavior monitoring. He does not appear to have an aggressive nature, but he definitely has some fear and anxiety to work through. He will bark and growl a little when being approached, but then will back down and lay on the floor shaking.

Once Sam allows you to pet him, he is a very sweet boy. We will continue to work with him on training and obedience and hopefully get him past his fear of new people. It may take some time to get there, but we are confident that he will overcome his struggles.

While Sam may not be adoptable at this time, he is in need of a sponsor. Becoming a sponsor for Sam could help with the tools and resources needed for training, as well as help get him vetted sooner. Please consider sponsoring Sam and help us get him where he needs to be so he can find his forever home and family.

Meet Remi! He is a Bordoodle (Border Collie/Poodle mix), and he is just shy of 4 months old and is just the sweetest boy. Remi is super playful and very loving. He has a lot of energy to burn and loves to show off his zoomies!

Remi is on our pre-adoption list simply due to vetting. He is not old enough to be neutered yet, but once he is, he will be ready for his forever home! Remi is such a cuddle bug and wants all the attention he can get. He is extremely smart and seems to be responding well to basic training. He sits well, but the stay part is a bit of a struggle. However, he will get there with more training.

Remi was rescued from a nearly tragic situation after being purchased from a breeder. Unfortunately, the home of the wonderful person who took him in caught fire, which put him in a position to surrender Remi to us. This little guy has already been through a lot in his short life, and yet he is still so full of joy and love.

Meet Jax! He is a roughly 3-4-year-old Cane Corso who was rescued from Jackson County. He was picked up severely malnourished and in bad health. Thankfully, a kind woman named Brandi stepped in to help save him. She took him to the vet to be checked out and, after a lot of testing, found out that he was heartworm positive, filled with roundworms, had double ear infections, and a bacterial infection in multiple places on his skin.

Jax is a very sweet boy; he loves cuddles and enjoys it when we grab his cheeks and call him "squishy face." Jax does not realize just how large he is and believes he is a lap dog. He thinks, “If I fits, I sits!” He is currently not available for adoption due to his medical conditions and the severity of his malnourishment. He will need to stay with the rescue long-term for rehabilitation and training. He will have multiple vet visits ahead of him and a lengthy period of taking medications. Jax could really use a sponsor to help cover the cost of his vet care and rehabilitation.

Jax does seem to have some issues being around other dogs, which seems to stem from fear rather than aggression. Once he is medically in better shape than he is right now, we will slowly start to socialize him with other dogs and more people to help him learn to build trust and relationships. His very first vet bill was over $500, and that number will continue to grow as he continues follow-up appointments and treatment. Please consider becoming a sponsor for Jax to help him on his road to recovery.
